The Evolution of Photography

Photography has come a long way since it's inception in the early 19th century. The first permanent photograph was created by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826, using a process called heliography. In 1839, Louis Daguerre introduced the daguerreotype, the first commercially successful photographic process. This marked the beginning of photography's rapid evolution.

The introduction of the Kodak camera by George Eastman in 1888 made photography accessible to the general public, revolutionising how people captured and shared their lives. The 20th century saw the rise of colour photography with the development of Kodachrome film in 1935, bringing vibrant life to images.

Digital photography emerged in the late 20th century, with the first digital camera invented by Steve Sasson at Kodak in 1975. This technology has continued to advance, leading to the high-resolution digital cameras and smartphones we use today. The shift to digital has democratized photography, making it easier than ever for people to take, edit, and share photos instantly.

At EJA Photography, we honour the rich history of photography while embracing the latest advancements to capture your most cherished moments with precision and artistry.
